by rix Visit Date:March 4, 2012 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "we had booked a transfer from the airport which was perfect.the serene hill is a very nice hotel with very nice stuff and a good breakfast. the way to the room was steep, but really ok. the view from our room was not that good, but you don t spend your time in the room anyway.the pool is nice. the place is quiet and has a beautiful nature.you need a bike to move or take the shuttle to lamai beach.its a good place to stay. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" | January 1, 2012
by Karlsson Peter Visit Date:December 25, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Only negative was a busy road to cross if walking to shopping and beach. However free of charge transport was offered as alternative.Lamai was nicer than Chewang as little less touristic and noisy but the sand was better in Chewang beach." | very simple, no problems, February 7, 2011

The staff are always friendly and try really hard, the prices for the items in the room fridge are very reasonable and you do not get ripped off when having your laundry done. The resort has a lovely pool." | May 31, 2010

by Trine Merete Torp Johansen Visit Date:February 8, 2010 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We stayed 6 days in February at Serene Hill Resort and it was really wonderfull. We lived in a wooden house - big and with a fantastic view over the city and the sea. The place is withdrawn from Lamai town where there is peace and tranquility. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to town and beach, or you may be running them free of charge by hotel staff. Hotel staff is fantastic - so helpful and friendly. Cleaning also impeccable. Delicious pool and pool area. We will definitely stay at Serene Hill again if we return to Koh Samui. [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" | September 25, 2009
by Samuel Gendreau-Belanger Visit Date:September 19, 2009 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "We spent 4 nights at the Serene Hill resort and spa and we were quite happy with the rooms but severely disappointed, partially because of we got stuff stolen from housekeepers, as it happened many times in the past too with other guests. The bungalows are quite nice, very spacious and all made of wood, with a nice large bathroom. The rooms are really on the hill as you might have read on other reviews. The bungalows have nice views, but do not expect a seaview. If you do get one, it will probably be a very small view of a small portion of sea, but nonetheless it s nice. The location is OK at the most, around 15mn walk to the beach and Lamai center, however they have a shuttle truck that will drive you to Lamai and back to the hotel anytime you want. It s not the most comfortable ride though, and it can get uncomfortable to ask a ride many times a day. I suggest to rent a moped for around 150 to 200 baths a day.Now the bad sides: The breakfast is officially the worst I have ever tasted, and believe me I have tasted many ranges at many different places. The breakfast they give you is what you would expect from a 5$ guesthouse. Which is really disappointing because you pay around 70$ for the bungalow! You only have a choice of eggs and bacon or yogurt with bread or croissant. Oh, sorry, forget the croissant, they don t have any. Why? I guess it s more expensive than 2 cheap slices of white bread. All served with a low quality strawberry jam (the only one they ve got), and with a coffee that taste worse than dishwater. I couldn t even finish my coffee, first time it happened to me! oh and the cold eggs and the 2 mini slices of bacon doesn t help too. Anyway you see the picture. Also the pool, quite nice looking and big actually, but not as clean as you would expect it to be. It seems they are having some problems with their pump, and half of the pool is empty waiting to be cleaned or repaired, which is not happening anywhere near the future. There was a sign written out of order , and we asked what was wrong and they kinda avoided the question and told us we could use the pool no problem. Ah and many tiles on the bottom of the pool are missing, that looks really cheap and run down. They have only one computer for the internet, which is filthy, I mean seriously, I hardly could type on the keyboard because of the amount of dirt on it. It seems it s coming straight from the early nineties, so of course don t expect any speed. And my major disappointment is that they don t have wireless internet! The rooms are nice as I said, but they could ve arranged the trees and vegetation around in a better way, as it is blocking the view of the sea. They should put trees between the bungalows instead, because as of it is now the next bungalow window overlooks straight into our bedroom, which is OK for now considering there is nobody occupying it, but otherwise... There are so many windows and the curtains are white and I feel like at night people from outside could see the shadows inside our room, which is not very great. Finally I read many reviews talking about theft, and well it happened to us too. My girlfriend got some jewelry stolen as well as some cosmetics. In overall, avoid this place! [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" | Quick and easy!, June 25, 2009 by Örjan Ström Visit Date:June 23, 2009 "This Hotel was very nice. Good value for the money! Situated 2 km from beach! Very calm and relaxing! The staff was friendly and helpful, free transfer to and from main-street!The hotel was situated in a very steep hill, tough to walk in the heat!" | May 15, 2009 by jon christopher Visit Date:May 12, 2009 "What a find! The bungalows are huge and are incredible value for money. All teakwood with large covered terrace and funky semi outdoor bathrooms. Ask for room 106 as this directly overlooks the pool. The staff here are incredibly friendly, and always willing to help with anything you need. Good affordable restaurant and a beautiful lagoon style pool. There never seemed more than 5 people staying here and often I had the pool to myself. This place is not on Lamai, but in a quiet location about 10 mins walk from the centre of Lamai, however the resort will drive you into Lamai whenever you want. Only potential bad points are if the place was at full capacity there is only room for around 12 people at the pool - but was never a problem for me. Also Lamai isn t the greatest place in the world, plently of bars and rstaurants, but can be a bit seedy with quite a few too many girly bars etc... [R24 integr.ERR:escaping]" | April 8, 2009 by Andy Visit Date:March 28, 2009 "As well as last year, we had a pleasent stay in Serene Hill. We had a standard room and couldnt really see why it was any worse than the others. Restaurant had good food and helpful staff." | the airport transfer to the hotel was not done, i had to take a taxi by my self and paid in advance., July 10, 2008 by Wong van lik Visit Date:June 24, 2008 "I don t recommended this hotel because the cleaners go through our stuffs and steal some money in the luggages. In the night, there are many frog on the way to go the room and they make noises all night.the way to go each room is very incline.the swimming pool is not very big." | Hotels & Resorts RecommendDestination:Phuket Location:Bang Tao Bay Address:116/13 M 6, Laguna Village Residence 3 City:T.
