The delicious breakfast in the morning was served by the pretty pool area -at night we would hang in the lounge for a night cap and you can browse the interesting collection of books in the library. The cute maid s uniform adds a very nice touch as do the soft Belgian bed sheets and the smell of Jasmine candles in the hallways. We specifically booked a double room but were given a very dark twin room at the back. When we complained we were told that if we had booked directly with them and not with an agent we would have had the room we wanted. This gave a very bad immediate impression. The service was bad and unfriendly. At breakfast items listed were not given. At lunch I chose a dish that included desert and tea but was told that the sweets were finished and only after complaining was tea brought. At the moment the hotel is totally overlooked at the pool by a multi-story building site which is extremely noisy. Be aware that you cannot relax in the garden and be sure to ask for a room at the front of the hotel. This hotel is not cheap and neither is it conveniently situated. However it is a beautiful building. In our opinion it is not worth the money as you can find far better deals in small and intimate hotels in Bangkok.
